Non Conformism is your pathway to freedom, independence, wealth and better health.
I call upon you, therefore, brethren, through the compassions of God, to present your bodies a sacrifice — living, sanctified, acceptable to God — your intelligent service; and be not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, for your proving what [is] the will of God — the good, and acceptable, and perfect. Romans 12:1-2
Paul is telling us that we must not fallow the way of the world. The world wants to mold you into a brick to make you a slave. The world is filled up with people with darkened minds who are blinded by the god of this world namely Satan and his spiritual and earthly minions.
This is why Paul warns us against following worldly wisdom and ungodly doctrines.
The world system prefers to homogenization not raw. It wants you to be molded into bricks made of wood hay and stubble, think of Pink Floyd’s song another brick in the wall. When Moses came onto the scene the Hebrew slaves were making bricks out of straw and mud, which were used to build cities of that day. This is the opposite of what God calls us to be which are living stones which Peter echoes in his letter to the church in the first century:
Having put aside, then, all evil, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envyings, and all evil speakings, as new-born babes the word’s pure milk desire ye, that in it ye may grow, if so be ye did taste that the Lord [is] gracious, to whom coming — a living stone — by men, indeed, having been disapproved of, but with God choice, precious, and ye yourselves, as living stones, are built up, a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:1-5
Why stones and not bricks? Because stones are unique none are alike and each person is unique not one of us is alike therefore as much as the world system wishes us to act like cows in a heard we are called to act like lions.
We are not to follow the crowds instead, we are to follow the few even the One called Jesus, He alone is the good shepherd, not the world filled with false shepherds. We are to seek wisdom over everything else, wisdom leads to better health, better finances, closeness with God, closeness with loved ones. It teaches you how to take charge of your life.
Break the mold.
Once you have made it your purpose to break free from the worlds mold you will begin to discover wisdom literature. Wise souls, wisdom in many forms you then must turn your attention to studying this wisdom which will help you escape from ungodly thinking. Keep moving forward and you will find people, writings, knowledge, resources that will assist you along the way.
As believers in Jesus we are called new creations and new creations are not driven by fear but by love: love of God, love of our fellow man, love of what is true, what is noble, what is honorable, what is pure. Non Conformists get rid of anything that prevents them from living a honorable life. They see others as made in Gods image, even when they are trapped in the snares of Satan. Lastly non conformists avoid being with toxic people and consuming toxic information rather they replace these with wise voices and truth seekers.
